I've tried seeing if there is any difference in the demonstrations or anything denoting that this is indeed the territory switch .. I can't see it.
At least the main set and other Toaplan games (like Out Zone) have them easy to identify due to the disclaimer. This set doesn't seem to have that.

Is there anyone else that can prove this claim?

Confirmed. Enter in the service mode, and you can see the effect.

Jumpers (territory) affect coinage. This might be true for some other Toaplan games.
