Summary 03513: ryouran, teljan, galpani4, galpans3, panicstr: Decoded dip switch values
Description In VS Mahjong Otome Ryouran (ryouran) and Tel Jan (teljan), after enabling dip switch #6 (show up in MAMEUI as the lowest 'Unknown' switch entry), enter service mode input test, then push A, B, or direction buttons. The 2nd row values that are previously set to 0 will turn into 1 on different bits depending on the button is pressed. Input test shows lower right values as 1 for Up, 10 for Down, 100 for Left, 1000 for right; lower left values as 1 for A, 10 for B. The values are not shown in Electro Design's ealier jjparads, jjparad2 games.

Enabling the dip switch #6 in ryouran and teljan revealed a bug in MAME on the games. For example, pressing both Up and Down buttons should cause the lower right value to be set to 11, but 0 is shown instead; similarly, pressing both Left and Right buttons should cause the lower right value to be set to 1100, but 0 is shown instead. Futhermore, there is no known way to change the upper two values to non-zero values. It is possible that Electro Design's other Super Nova mahjong titles (or perhaps Super Nova platform in general) may support more joystick buttons during input test and may be in other places (eg: Tel Jan (see bug 03512)).

In Gals Panic 4 (galpani4), after enabling dip switch #3 (show up in MAMEUI as the highest 'Unknown' switch entry), the warning screen that usually appears after the Gals Panic 4 title screen and single player demo disappears. The switch has no effect in the Korean version (and other English language versions?) of Gals Panic 4.

In Gals Panic S3 (galpans3), after enabling dip switch #5 (show up in MAMEUI as the second lowest 'Unknown' switch entry), the game automatically enters Dial Edit screen, which shows the Super Kaneko Dial phone number by default. Perhaps the arcade hardware was designed to use with a modem, but it was never implemented/advertised because Kaneko went bankrupt at the time? This sounds unlikely because the Dial Edit screen also allows user to configure dashes instead of numbers, nevertheless MAME's Super Nova peripheral support is still incomplete. After all, MAME never implemented the card dispenser feature in jjparad2.

In Panic Street (panicstr), after enabling dip switch #6 (show up in MAMEUI as the lowest 'Unknown' switch entry), the Super Kaneko Dial ad is no longer shown in the introduction screen.
