Summary 03864: cottonbm, cotton2 : Music becomes glitchy at the 1st stage boss.
Description Music becomes glitchy at the 1st stage boss scene. It stays the same in later stages.

---

The music is more inaccurate than in previous versions. After completing the first stage and view sequence, is a point where it becomes clear. I put a picture of the moment.

Most of the games in the driver either have no sound or are flagged as having inaccurate sound when you start the game. Unless you have reference recordings from the PCB, we have nothing to go one because even prior emulation (even if they sound better), might not be correct.

I mean that in a 0133 version to give an example of version, the music sounds much better, and in 0138 is flawed.

It is a clear regression. Music and sounds are being broken at the 1st stage boss, then totally messed up after the stage.
I'm checking other games in the stv driver.

cotton2 has the exactly same problem as cottonbm.
I fix the report description and confirm.

The music becomes glitchy much earlier for me, it seems that the music stops playing some samples until the game is reset when a lot of explosion sounds play at the same time.

Agreed. I tested both sets and it seems like the reported behavior doesn't happen as described, although inaccuracies still exist.

Possible "performance" issues related?

For the record, this issue which indeed existed a while ago is now fixed though I couldn't say when except that it was after 0.148. And I'm talking about BOTH cotton2 and cottonbm in 32 and 64 bit versions. Therefore it should be closed, though currently there are other serious issues to be fixed for this driver and particularly for cottonbm...

fwiw it seems to happen through most of the game, including the ending.

It also seems to apply to Find Love and in DaiMakaiMura stage 2/3/5 inside Capcom Collection Dai 2.
Amusingly:
- In Find Love if you save a state then load it sound becomes good.
- In DaiMakaiMura BGM can be normally heard in sound test.
