Summary MESS-specific 06785: Any driver that allows one to browse the host file system: Can't change into directories that have a "." prefix in their name
Description While browsing my host file system in MAME (MESS)'s UI to mount a floppy disk image, I found out I can't change into a folder with a "." prefix (i.e. .mame). I've attached some screen shots that show the issue.
Steps To Reproduce Here's an example using the coco3 driver:

mame coco3
Enable UI (scroll-lock key on my PC).
Hit TAB
Select File Manager
Select Floppy Disk 1
Use navigation menu and select a folder that begins with a single "."
You will see an "error accessing" message

I cannot test with Windows due to it not allowing creation of folders with a preceding period.

It seems to affect any path with "/." in it. I can access a directory beginning with "." in the working directory, but not anywhere else.

You can create folders in Windows with a leading period at the command prompt.
