Sound Balance/Proportion
Except for heavy regression, a report for sound balance/proportion between multiple sound devices always needs the original references to determine the correct value of each volume. Direct sound recording of the PCB is the most appropriate. We will accept arcade soundtrack but please keep it in mind that they usually have delay affected/echoed/remixed and don't always represent the real sound balance correctly.

We need specific a machine example here with reference recordings for that machine for this to even be accepted.
Otherwise, you can simple adjust the Sliders to set the volume of your choice to each sound element.

As reporter in 07075, recently the DAC volume for M72 driver has been increased against version 0.207 in +3,5dB, but it's still under the values of Mame 0.172 (reggression version) in -2,6dB. Cannot be set as resolved until checking the true DAC PCB volume.

in mame/drivers/m72.cpp at line 1866:
DAC_8BIT_R2R(config, "dac", 0).add_route(ALL_OUTPUTS, "speaker", 0.3); // unknown DAC
change to
DAC_8BIT_R2R(config, "dac", 0).add_route(ALL_OUTPUTS, "speaker", 0.4); // unknown DAC
will make the volume really close to PCB videos posted here and to the value of MAME 0.172.
Obviously this still need confirmation agaisnt a PCB.

Affected with commit b8849e0341db7815ec83f1f3c4879abbf35586b5, which solves 07075 but I am not clear that this one is resolved.

Tested R-Type first level and all music and sfx sound lower, maybe someone with a greater knowledge of this game or other m72 sets can verify it more exactly.

Edit: Tested lightning swords and the fix is very noticeable with the character scream when dying.
