Summary | 03044: opwolf, opwolfa, opwolfu: Reference video and pcb info
Description |
This is a reference video Guru recorded. The source file says: TODO Need to verify Opwolf against original board: various reports claim there are discrepancies (perhaps limitations of the fake Z80 c-chip substitute to blame?). Also, regarding the sound emulation, it's flagged but this is the only thing Guru found to be different: The coin up sound is wrong. In MAME it fires twice. It's sound 05 in the test. It should only fire once. |
||||
Steps To Reproduce | For the sound issue, flick the test switch on and reset, then press start. Press trigger to go to sound 05, then press start to play it. It fires twice. The sound is right but on the real PCB it fires only once.
Additional Information | YouTube lowered the quality of the upload. I can make the original video temporarily available if anybody wants it. It's about 200 megs.

I put multiple images with areas that are not in "Mame" Also a link to a video of the original game. www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQqaw_Vf9wk Final boss with hostage in jungle scene. Appear random scenes, say "The enemy has located you". At the end of the scene of the concentration camp, the scene rises up. The PlayStation2 port is also correct. Here my gameplay on PSX2 port: www.youtube.com/watch?v=2F_rtmSUBNc |

Commenting in another bug is not the place to put unrelated "bugs". > Appear random scenes, say "The enemy is located you". Can you give a timestamp where this happens in the video? >At the end of the scene of the concentration camp, the scene rises up. This is not shown in the video, the bands are a result of recording a CRT monitor. >The PlayStation2 port is also correct. The PlayStation 2 video is showing the Japanese set of Operation Wolf, so I'm not sure how this is "correct". |

Summary here say: "Reference video" > Appear random scenes, say "The enemy has located you". Can you give a timestamp where this happens in the video? Yes, here in 21:38 " www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQqaw_Vf9wk " >At the end of the scene of the concentration camp, the scene rises up. This is not shown in the video, the bands are a result of recording a CRT monitor. If occurs, here in 25:00 " www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQqaw_Vf9wk " >The PlayStation2 port is also correct. The PlayStation 2 video is showing the Japanese set of Operation Wolf, so I'm not sure how this is "correct". The above video is the original PCB, and displays the text in English. In the PSX2 port same thing happens even with the Japanese text. |

All gameplay bugs here will be fixed in upcoming MAME release (there are a few other bugs not reported too, such as a missing animation at end of the ammo dump level). The double trigger coin sound bug remains. |
