|Summary||06334: a500p: State of the Art demo dies with "Software Failure" error|
The State of the Art demo by Spaceballs (ADF, CRC 85E6306E) formerly worked in MESS but now causes a crash with a "Software Failure" screen inside the emulated machine shortly after the start of the demo.
|Steps To Reproduce||
mame a500p -flop "117516-State of the Art (1992)(Spaceballs)[TP2#1].zip"
This is a regression:
0.152: Demo runs albeit with some graphics glitches. Note driver is named "a500" at this point
0.153: Can't use floppy due to MT05579
0.154: Demo breaks similarly to 0.176 but with a different error message
There were substantial changes to the Amiga driver in 0.154 which are likely responsible.
|Affected Sets / Systems||a500p|

Two issues here:
- a500p is the Amiga 500 Plus driver, that means it uses Kickstart 2.04 as default. The standard Amiga 500 driver is still a500.
- It looks like the demo wants 1 MB RAM, the standard Amiga 500 only has 512 KB now because the expansion interface isn't emulated yet. You can use the a2000 driver as an alternative, and the demo seems to run fine there.
