what do you mean by special move?

it acts the same in both games here, you hit the opponent over the head with the skateboard.

the text (if it's really text) seems to say 'MUL' I wonder if it's indicating some sort of failure in the maths/collision unit...

yes the special move the skateboard rapper does....he does with the skateboard in both the versions but try doing without skateboard....the spin kick he does....he is doing it only in the special version and not the normal version....

That kind of behavior suggest it's by design. There are added elements to the game from "Special" to the normal set - just look at the introduction, when the rappers come down. The scaffolding carries them down in the Special version - you get nothing like that in the normal version.

I still don't understand this special move part of the bug report.

With the skateboard pressing A+B causes him to hit the CPU with the skateboard
Without the skateboard pressing A+B causes him to do a drop kick

This is the same in both versions.

I see no 'spinning kick' in either version.

I was only able to achieve this spin kick with the 2nd player by mapping the attack buttons to a joypad. No amount of timing could get the kick to work with the keyboard (at least for me), even if I mapped them to the same button.

ok.. what I'm basically trying to determine is if the graphics for this move are only present in the special version or not. I'mt not having much luck getting it to work at all.

As I stated a couple years ago when I researched this, the spinkick move for the player 2 character (performed by holding kick+jump without the skateboard) looks to be a move unique to this one "Special" version of the game (brapboysj). The normal version (brapboys) simply does a side jumpkick attempting the same move, as the snapshots attached show.

There has been no evidence from original hardware play that this move is available to player 2 from actual PCB play of the normal version, so I'm concluding that this is not a bug.

Closing and moving the graphic glitch issue to another bug report.
