Summary 03484: boxingb: 1 & 2 player game start doesn't work with the 1 & 2 on keyboard
Description game coins up as normal with the 5 key. But game does not start with either 1 or 2. Game started single player by hitting space bar. Still haven't figured out how to start a 2 player game.
Steps To Reproduce same as above
Additional Information I found thig same issue in a few other Cinematronics games also. Unfortunately, I didn't keep track of the game names, but I suspect they share the same driver, since it is the same on all, 1 & 2 doesn't start game and space bar does.

not a bug

like many games it doesn't have dedicated start buttons, you must use one of the normal game buttons to start, as you've found.

'Q' (player 2, button 3) will start a 2 player game just as space (player 1, button 3) starts a 1 player game.

As Haze states - not a bug.

The picture I'm seeing, which is a machine you own (or used to own)? shows that there is one dial, and 6 buttons (3 for player 1 and 3 for player 2). Each set of buttons has a multi-function button which works as a game action button AND a start button.

As decided with other games/drivers that have similar behavior (Atari Games such as Indiana Jones, etc) 01868 - it makes no sense to have a separate start button mapping. If the original game has a single button doing multiple things, MAME shouldn't split this up.
