The game is labeled GAME_NOT_WORKING in the source. You should see a red screen when starting MAME which states this. Per the rules of reporting, this this isn't a huge regression from previous versions, this is an invalid report. The issue is known for this game and all model2.c games and partially the reason the entire driver is labeled as not working, even if they mostly work.

Closing.

there was a version where it runs at full speed IIRC, unless that was only between some internal changes. It might be useful to work out if there was a public build where it ran better and documenting that tho.

I can't remember any public build in which it ran correctly. I tried a number of earlier builds (including 0.119u3 which was the first version with the improved graphics) and they all seemed to be at the same area when compared to the music playing and they all seemed the same - noticeably lagged in the gameplay speed department.

Ok, it was probably during some internal changes which broke something else then, because I definitely remember *a* version than ran it at the correct speed in MAME.

I'm reopening this per Haze request. This game and possibly others have timing issue which are manifesting in the game not being presented at the proper speed.

Kale's request? I think it should be open, but I didn't request it.

Not in a direct way, no. Kale comes to be yesterday with a couple observations from you which he wanted regression/confirmation on. Seeing as I'm everyone's tool .. I gave it a shot. I'll fix the other model 2 bug (schamp) bug to have you as the finder, because that would be more accurate.

Going to bump this but with the new model 2 improvements as of 0.196GIT, the game runs at normal speed in the 3d graphics parts.
