This is a rather useless report. You give no save states or input recordings to bring us to the issue. Simply stating something is wrong without supporting evidence doesn't fly here, especially when it's apparently such a hard to come across bug

I played two games getting to level 4 on each one - no crash. I'm not completely disputing the possibility, but some more information would be nice.

EDIT: Setting acknowledged until further testing can fully prove or disprove the claim.

Is it possible that the game was reset with F3 at any time? This simple act could effect games in unknown ways later and randomly. I too have played many many games and have not had a crash yet.

I encourage other testers to please see if they can get the game to crash without F3 .. then with F3 once in a while.

No the game was not reset with F3 as I'm playing it on a real arcade cab with no keyboard at all. Only MAME keyset for the joysticks. Unfortunately I can not reproduce the crash but it happened twice.

Since nobody was able to reproduce this crash I would suggest to close it for now. If it comes up again this report can be reported, but it should have a fatalerror message or a backtrace then.

I'm guessing this might be an issue with controller mapping and some combination with their controller or keyboard is causes an "ESC" to be sent while the game is played. I've seen it happen for fighter games and bad keyboard encoders sending a raw signal for "F3" before.. Closing.
