Summary 04491: venture, venture2, venture4: Venture sounds imperfect, wrong music played at various points
Description The exidy.c driver faithfully reproduces the sound, but plays the wrong music for a variety of rooms/treasure grabs. Driver sound should be marked "imperfect."
Steps To Reproduce
Additional Information Examples: The music playing in the spider room lvl. 2 should be playing in the goblin room lvl. 1. "Game Over" music plays when grabbing the diamond in the Wall Room, lvl.1.

This has been a long time (but trivial) sound problem, dating back to at least MAME 0.36.

If you are asserting that sound effects or music is incorrect in spots, we need actual source recording videos (in this case, since it stems from a certain scene, not just general effects) from the game itself or PCB output. There is no way to fix it if we do not know precisely how it is supposed to be from actual output, not from previous versions of MAME, other emulators or even M1 output.

The observations you state are exactly the differences between the arcade version behavior and the ColecoVision port of this game. I went back and tested some early MAME builds - the first build I got any music out of the game is 0.35, and the events you describe have the same music. I don't see how it's possible that MAME was been wrong. Before that point for a short while, only sound effects were partially done.

Again, unless you can provide actual PCB recording/video that this happens on your set up - there is nothing we can do here.
