It's my opinion this driver should not be have been placed as "working".
Some games run and look good, others have graphic issues (unknown if it's cart problem or emulation issue), others have speed problems (too fast). Rather than take multiple obvious bugs which don't seem to be regressions Testing back to mess 0.138.. the sets pictured above do the same thing - (soccer and rgmahjon from software list), even after the driver was given a working status.

Has any of them ever worked correctly? I'd bet not.

it does look like it might be a case of premature promotion to me, unless the majority of the sets work and these are the exceptions, although the report doesn't indicate that.

I haven't looked at the driver yet, but the graphics look suspiciously like one layer should support a 'double height' tile function, which some early chips had (the majong tiles for instance.

Speed sounds like it could be an irqgen issue.

The bios screens and astro wars seemed to play ok before ;)

Anyway, I have done some small fixes to improve the graphics on several games.

It seems like Mappy is one of the games that plays too fast; I don't have a solution for this yet.

Thanx for the so far.

3 errors that I found so far

1) Pole Position II Has bad graphic errors. screenshot attached
2)Super Golf gets to the select player number screen then freezes
3)Ys. The sounds seems to lock-up. producing a single note and keeping it

Yeah, I swapped the ASSERT/CLEAR signal on the line positions.

I was able to actually start a game in Super Golf, let me retry that.
The hanging note in Ys still seems to be there :(

The kungfurd set also seems to suffer from the hanging note issue, just like Ys.
