Summary MESS-specific 04910: pce, tg16 [dslaylh, dslayedj]: No inputs and Black Screen
Description After loading either the Japanese or USA version of:

Dragon Slayer - Legend of Heroes ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragon_Slayer:_The_Legend_of_Heroes )

Softlist shortnames:
dslaylh (US)
dslayedj (Japan)

The game loads after the system card 3.0 (USA or Japanese works), and you can hear the games intro story play in audio but you only get a black screen, no inputs seem to be accepted and after the intro is done, all you get is a black screen and the emulator just hangs there indefinitely waiting for input after the dialog.
Steps To Reproduce Since the default card is the Arcade Card - simply type the following to load from softlists:

mess tg16 dslaylh
or
mess pce dslayedj
Additional Information Although the actual game does not run, when using a System Card 2.0, the game does its normal "You must play this on system card 3.0" and has the graphics warning screen correct, but actual game when running a system card 3.0 does not work correctly.

the softlist names should probably be used somewhere in the description as the softlists are half designed to aid in bug tracking and ensuring everybody is using / testing the same sets not just generic (potentially bad / incompatible) images found online.

of course this means that all bugs need to be checked with listed images :-)

Reworked report. Note to Original Poster - include short names from the softlists (located in your HASH folder per system) of any tested game when detailing what to do to start and/or duplicate the reported problem such as illustrated. Be concise but not overly wordy when describing the problem. Notice the Affected systems should only include the system/console that is involved, not the actual game which can be detailed in your description.

I see thanks, I tried looking on the forums for a general guideline when I made the report, I couldn't find anything, if you happen to have one that would be great, I don't like giving you guys more work than you need.

ah found it;

MESS support here, to be fair, is sort of a work in progress right now.
As new things come in, we'll be adjusting policies and procedures to handle them in the best way. Thanks for you patience.
