Summary MESS-specific 05279: ngp, ngpc: System Clock not saving
Description it seems like the system clock is not saving. the other settings saved, but not the clock

if I press the power key or do a soft reset, the system clock restores to the correct time. but if I do a hard reset or choose another system and restart the system the system clock is at 0:00 AM and the date 1/1/2000.

I am really getting frustrated because I have to re-set the clock every time I start up the system.

This is already widely known issue already but since this isn't officially logged, I'll accept this as a placeholder for the issue. There are 2 separate parts that require batteries on the device, one for the game device itself and one for the internal backup memory and clock. The latter is not emulated.

It doesn't even do that now. The date reverts to (blank month) 0, 2000.

Pressing down-arrow at this point puts rubbish into the month field.
