Summary 05737: choplift and clones: digitized speech is pitched too high
Description hi, for the game choplifter (8751 315-5151) (note: i cannot test the clones for this game), the digitized speech is pitched too high in mame.

listen to the two attached .wav recordings comparing the pcb version against the mame version.

here is a video of the choplifter pcb where you can hear the digitized speech:

The bootleg and unprotected set seem to sound identical as the Parent (choplift)

These sets give you warnings about "NO GOOD DUMP KNOWN" and "ROM NEEDS REDUMP"

With that said, it definitely seems like the reported behavior can be confirmed.

an added note for this report:
in order for the mame speech to match the arcade speech in pitch/speed,
the pitch/speed of the speech in mame would need to be reduced by 25%

This problem should be related to the SN76489 sound slices.

I don't know how to fix it in MAME (and whether or not is it possible with current implementation), but if you increase the sound
slices (I tried for example from 256 to 280 slices per frame), you will get the correct pitches.
