Summary 01101: elvactr: The background seems to "skip" where it is supposed to scroll at the beginning of the 3rd stage.
Description At the very beginning of the level 3, when I move the guy to the first elevator, you'll see that the background seems to ''skip'' where it is supposed to scroll.

I can confirm this report and add further information.

The issue doesn't always happen. It appears only in specific moments of the game, for example at the beginning of mission 2, 3 and 4. It also happens in the middle of some levels (see attached snaps for the specific points), always in the same places.

Oddly enough, it seems to appear almost always in some points (for example at the beginning of Mission 4) and less often in others (the beginning of mission 3).

Tested in mame 0.202
I've uploaded savestates of the beginning of each level.

Some indications of where the skip-scroll bug ocurrs in each level:
Mission2: right at the beginning, walk right
Mission3: right at the beginning, walk right
Mission4: After a few minutes playing the level (see attached image).
Mission5: I haven't been able to reproduce this one. Anyway, it is supposed to ocurr in the beginning of the level, after descending a little (see attached image). These bugs are random

Some of the reported skip scroll bugs can be seen in this gameplay:
5:57: Mission 3
11:36: Mission 4

Regarding missions 2 and 5 I haven't seen any scroll bug in that gameplay, but according to LastNinja2 these bugs are a random thing.

fwiw i couldn't reproduce this in recent versions of mame but saw it immediately in 0.202. probably a 68k bug, resolved since?

Just played up to Mission 5 and didn't see any scrolling problems.

The momentarily visible sprites before the fade-ins are still there, though.

I'm pretty sure this was fixed by Hap's chk2cmp2 fix or the pack/unpk fix, as the problem no longer exists on fbneo side too
