I know in the past it's been desired to keep the snapshot clean of any effects/overlay/bezel for authenticity - this may have changed recently with the new core implementations. The bezels and other artwork will also save with snap now. I'll set as acknowledged until Aaron can confirm the direction. |

IMHO it should be kept like it was before. This sounds more and more like a screen capture function instead of grabbing the clean video output of a game. |

And to add, the snaps look horrible with effects added in like that because the snap size is much smaller relative to the effects pattern - the relative sizes are all wrong. |

Note that this only happens if you specify a -snapview other than 'native', which is the default. Still, I agree, and will disable effects overlays for snapshots. |
