I agree with you. Literally and strictly it would be Du rather than Zu, but it is only from the local notation difference. It came from the characters for the original D series sounds (Da, Di, Du, De, Do), but now they have been transformed and pronounced like Dah, Jee, Zuu, Deh, Doh. We can also write it as "Kodzure", not very common though, it describes the difference of the original characters and based on the modern Hepburn rule ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hepburn_romanization ). I believe the licensing issue doesn't have to do with this problem. The title itself is a combination of general words. Also I noticed some ugly Romajized titles like Youjyuden, Iga Ninjyutsuden, Syusse Oozumou, Tokusyu Butai U.A.G and others. I think we should use Shu and Ju rather than Syu and Jyu, except the cases the original games use them explicitly. How do you think about it? |

I thought we had an informal rule towards using Hepburn romanization, but I could be wrong. Santeri and/or Justin would remember. |

We are theoretically using waapuro-style Hepburn but in practice there's no consistency since submitters grab names from wherever. e.g. "Jyunai" and "BiKiNikko - Okinawa de Ippai Shityaimashita" in the last release. (The latter using two systems in the same word....) |

It's applied only for those two titles and a few untouched ones for a long time. I'm thinking of normalizing them to proper description except games that the ROMAJI description is originally wrong. Other examples daisyari - Daisyarin -> Daisharin dairesya - Dai Ressya Goutou -> Dai Ressha .. youjyudn - Youjyuden -> Youjuuden tndrcadej - Tokusyu Butai U.A.G. -> Tokushu Butai ... gokuparo -> Gokujyou Parodius -> Gokujou.. iganinju -> Iga Ninjyutsuden -> Iga Ninjutsuden janshin -> Jyanshin .. -> Janshin .. Originally wrong ones: senjyo - Senjyo jyangoku - Jyangokushi mosyougi - Syougi No Tatsujin Writing "JA" as "JYA" is wrong in any official romanization system. And it's "ZYA" in Kunrei system, but it will not be accepted by anyone around here. |
