|Summary||03633: mimonkey: [possible] Wrong colors|
Mighty Monkey (1982) has wrong colors. I compared MAME with the three
screenshots from the TAFA flyer. And the High Score text in MAME is yellow
and on the TAFA flyer red. The 'A CHINESE ANCIENT STORY' and
'UNIVERSAL VIDEA GAMES' text on the title screen have also different colors.
All colors looks like from a bootleg of Mighty Monkey.
The GAME_WRONG_COLORS flag must be set.

|it might just be a different version...|

At this point, while the flyers show some semblance of color to give the impression they current MAME presentation is wrong , it's hard to flat out say they are incorrect without ruling out bad proms or something else. I'm willing to confirm this, but ask for further PCB confirmation which might never surface.
Also, remember this game is still in the to be antiquated scobra.c, which will eventually be merged into galdrvr.c There might be elements of this game which will improve with the merge to the updated driver.

Found Mighty Monkey snapshots at http://www.arcadecollecting.com/shots.html taken from actual arcade PCB
using video capture equipment (see Mighty Monkey-www.arcadecollecting.com-Shots.png).
The ingame images on the right shows that Mighty Monkey has a starfield!
MAME's color prom is correct. All colors the arcade shots have are also in the color prom, but MAME's
palette_init is different. So i created my own color PROM to see if MAME's PROM has the correct palette
compared to the arcade shots. Some colors did i not found, they are using in collision sequences, but
the new MAME screenshots look identical the the arcade ones!

Can't say for certain but the arcadecollecting.com PCB might be where the dump came from. Would bear further investigation.
In any event, arcadecollecting.com sold off a large part of their collection so it's probably gone.

|Anyhow, crafting your own color PROM to fix the colors in MAME is a "wrong fix", MASH. :)|

From everything I've gathered so far, Mighty Monkey does look to use a nonstandard PROM decode. And I can't even tell how it works without seeing an actual shot of the PCB and tracing the wiremods. The Kaina Games bootleg does something similar, but in different execution as you can see by the different colors.
I'm heads up on straight confirming this issue.

|Kaina Games bootleg appears to use a simple address line swap on the PROM (arranged in this order: 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 0, 1) while the real machine is using all jumbled sorts of crap.|
