Summary 04954: mvscu, xmvsf, mshvsf: Sprite priority problem on Final Stage (8) with Onslaught (large transformation)
Description After being beaten in his smaller form, a larger-than-screen sized Onslaught rises from the bottom of the screen, but his head, surrounding purple collars, and part of his arm are visible over-top of the ground (background) while the rest of his body is not. These elements then become invisible after they have passed the ground line until they reach the middle of the screen. During the fight, Onslaught appears normal.
Steps To Reproduce Play the game up until the final stage.
Additional Information I have attached an animated GIF of the problem as well as a save state. I played the game until the final stage again WITHOUT saving or loaded a game state to rule out this being a factor.

Same issue, but in XMvSF (Apocalypse)

has duplicate 05657Closed  mvscu, xmvsf, mshvsf: the bug appears in the apocalypse stage when him morph into a giant and is always is atomatic you dont need to make it

XMvSF also have same issue with Apocalypse. And probably MSHvSF, since that game also has Apocalypse as final boss.

Might need to update the title to reflect the fact it affects Apocalypse in xmvsf and mshvsf.

I've done some testing. I've found out there's no issue in mame 0.144 and backwards. Issue starts ocurring in mame 0.145
Regression is some version between mame 0.144 and mame 0.145 but intermediate versions are not available for download so I can't test them.
I think it could be 0.144u2 because it's the only version with changes in the cps2 driver
