|Summary||05877: outrun and clones: Minor graphics error|
There's a gap between certain objects and their shadows that is present on the pcb but is missing in MAME. The most obvious examples being the lower left tyre of the Ferrari and the bottom left of the palm trees, as shown in the accompanying pictures.
It's easier to see on videos than static pictures, for example watch from around the 2 minute mark. The gap between the tyre and its shadow is pretty obvious.

yeah, it's been said before that some of the PCB revisions have a half-pixel offset between shadows and sprites, to emulate it we'd have to double the horizontal resolution of the output and work out exactly when it applies.
nice to have a proper reference tho.

|After checking lots of videos and various references, I've yet to see an Outrun machine without the gap! It also seems that it's at least one pixel wide. Thanks for the info though.|

All the Out run versions I've seen have the gap present however, some console ports made by sega don't show that gap, so is likely Haze is right...
