Summary 06571: raveracw, raveracj: Acceleration and gear shift controls frequently stop responding temporarily
Description While playing, at least once per race, the controls seem to go haywire (attempting to shift up causes the game to shift down, the car will not accelerate properly) for at least a couple of seconds. Quite frustrating since this typically costs me my lead position, or the race altogether :)

Sometimes braking appears to fix the situation, but I cannot get that to work reliably. It's most definitely not a controller issue since other racing games (including ones on the same platform) do no exhibit this.

This is no doubt an odd one. I think you'd be best served making an .inp file (-record raveracw.inp) each time you play and post the recording which exhibits your issue.

I have attached an input file. The problem occurs in the last ten seconds of the race.
Please do not mind my mediocre playing.

Just wanted to add that I experienced a similar problem in acedrvrw, which is running on the same driver.
I'm trying to narrow down the exact symptoms, using automatic transmission seems to work fine, it's just that every so often manual transmission seems to glitch slightly. At least that's what it seems like.

I can't confirm it.
I also checked the INP file, and every downshift is in response to the "INPUTS" port, so the game itself behaves as it should there. Try redefining gas/brake and shifter inputs to exclude a hardware problem on your end.

Just played a few games again, and I can't reproduce it anymore either.
It most certainly wasn't a hardware problem since raveracw and acedrvrw were the only games that exhibited the problem (and I play lots of racing games on MAME with the exact same control setup)

Oh well, problem is fixed, bug may be closed
