Summary 06598: funkball: Can't exit Funky Ball
Description Using Wolf MAME 64-bit .186, I can't stop emulation of Funky Ball after starting it. The game is playable, but the escape key does nothing in it. The escape key works in all other games tested in Wolf MAME 64-bit .186.

Also, the category/genre should be changed to Sports/Volleyball.

it's got a terminal attached so it acts like a computer, you have to press scrlock to turn full-keyboard mode off.

As Haze mentioned, It uses PC hardware and therefore a keyboard is installed. Any emulation having emulated keyboard needs to go into PARTIAL EMULATION mode to allow UI functions to take priority in anything using keyboard assignments. In this case, using SCROLL LOCK (UI Toggle - in Input (general) --> User Interface) with switch between FULL or PARTIAL emulation mode. You can also start MAME with -ui_active which will start emulation in PARTIAL mode by default.

This is not a bug.

Category/genre information is not in source, so is not an issue to bring up here. Talk to those who maintain such external informational lists/ini/dat files.

Closing.

well technically the terminal is a debug feature, you wouldn't see it if using the arcade pcb, and you wouldn't have a keyboard attached, so you might consider it a 'bug' anyway, but since it's an in development driver, flagged as not working, I don't think it needs bringing up here.
