Summary | 07671: roadblst and clones: No autocenter on steering wheel
Description | When playing, the steering wheel does not auto center, as it would on a real RoadBlasters cabinet. The RoadBlasters steering wheel is very much like the Star Wars yoke, without the vertical (Y) axis.

AFAIK the reason they center on the real hardware is the springs installed to the yolk that require some resistance to turn left right so it easily returns to center. There are other games which do this, but I'm not sure is there is a software method to mimic the arcade original hardware. |

Thanks Tafoid. This is exactly the same behaviour in games such Atari Star Wars (both games almost share the almost same yoke). However, this autocenter feature is implemented in MAME Star Wars (in the MAME settings: Analog controls -> AD stick X Autocenter speed), but not in MAME RoadBlasters. |

That's fair. I didn't look before and I didn't notice it was added as a DIAL which I'm not sure is correct or not. I'll take a look. |

I've changed the input type and tweaked the defaults to allow keyboard to work well while still respecting autocenter. This should show up in next MAME release. |
