Summary MESS-specific 07977: Default font lacks Japanese kana
Description Liberation Sans, the default font on SDL builds, lacks support for katakana and hiragana. Japanese computers often have katakana keycaps and may require kana entry to load programs.

The built-in uismall font also lacks kana, though adding it may not be so important.
