Summary | 08002: dietgo and clones: Volume of sampled sounds is too low | ||||
Description |
Voices and other sampled sounds don't stand out from the music as much as they do on real hardware, as seen on this recording of a real PCB: |
||||
Steps To Reproduce |
Just start a game in the default stage and hit some enemies around. Drums are also too drowned by the rest of the music. |

Could you see if you can adjust the levels in the slider menu (TAB -> Slider Controls) to find some accurate to recording? I'm acknowledging this as you have a pcb recording which can be used as reference. |

Sounds more accurate to me when "OKI MSM6295 ADPCM ':oki' Ch.0" is just set all the way up to 2.00 (maybe it's still a bit too low?), though I guess there have to be more scientific ways of assigning volume levels to the sound chips than doing it by ear. Would finding pics of the board help getting the actual proper values for it? |
