Summary 08108: truxton: Music sounds different from PCB
Description You can notice right at stage 1 the music sounds off on mame when compared to PCB

i recorded a wav file to show how the music sounds on MAME

Can you explain further?

The first thing I notice was the off-beat bassdrum in the music, but if I listen closely, it's also on the PCB video.

My ears also say the music on the PCB video is more tinny, that can be due to filtering.
And it looks like the PCB video is sped up to 60hz, so it's faster than it should be. Either ther person's video software, or youtube, converted the video to 60hz. Truxton framerate is 57.6hz.

i did further testing and found the version where it started to happen
i made more wav recordings hopefully you will notice the change better

ho another thing dont listen on the MEGA player it sucks it bugs the music more download it and play it on the computer player

Ok I can hear it, one of the instruments (or volume of one of the channels) is too loud compared to PCB.
In the stage 1 tune it is part of the chord, instead of 3 notes being similar volume, one of them is too loud.

i'm pretty sure this affect other games using the same sound chip i think i remember
