Summary | 08124: midnrun, windheat: "Is this machine single?? Please check the DIP switch" error on startup | ||||
Description |
This harmless error always showed on startup since the recent changes with konppc.cpp fixing the flashes and lockups in these games (0.234). Despite how minor this error is, it doesn't happen on actual hardware. |

are you sure the 'real hardware' isn't just set to twin mode? I don't think it's an error, just a message to alert the operator to the fact it's booting as a single unit, in case it's meant to be part of a twin? |

I'm 100% sure. There are only 4 dip switches and no additional jumpers to configure (checked them all). Test mode doesn't mention anything of setting this to a twin cab either. There's also the fact both games came shipped as single units too (either upright or deluxe). |

Seems like more of a warning to make sure you've checked to see if your DIP to Single or Twin is set as you desire. Notice if you choose Twin, there are "bad" roms for 21n/k and 23n/k - I presume it is not finding the Twin board contents it expects and will not start. You are stating that on the real thing, on a single board, you select Twin it doesn't act the same way? |

Okay, it may be video logic related instead of networking as there is no message if you boot this with DIP 1 on/twin. The message shows if DIP 1 is set off/single. It'd be nice to know what happens if DIP 1 is set on/twin on pcb (goodness 3d Konami boards are a bit difficult to find in right hands). |

So it's come to my attention that I forgot to notice ZR107's video board has dip switches which apparently are set in konppc.cpp. I have no clue which address connects to these dip switches. Furthermore, I should check my GTI Club/GN678 video board from a Thunder Hurricane pcb stack to see if any jumpers or dip switches exist on that board. |
