Summary 08153: psychos: psychos music sounds quieter and flatter than psychosj
Description Psycho Soldier (US) version sounds inferior to the Psycho Soldier (Japan). The US version is basically quieter and flatter sounding. There doesn't seem to be anything obvious in the source code that would cause this. There also doesn't appear to be a regression version. It has always been like this.
Steps To Reproduce 1. Load psychos and start game.
2. Note the music sound quality (with / without vocals).
3. Load pyschosj and start game
4. Note the improvement in music sound quality (with / without vocals).
Additional Information PCB video of the US version:

You've forgotten to add the PCB videos where this is proved.

I hadn't forgotten. There just wasn't any good videos of the US PCB that I could find but I have added the best one I found to date. You can just about tell that the sound on the US PCB video more closely matches the Japanese version running in MAME.

Are you sure this isn't related to volume levels since the FM rewrite?

Hi Scott. It's always been like this as far as I can tell. The sound is the same even going to back to MAME v0.223.

My gut feeling is it's intentional, assuming it's not a bad dump.
