Summary | 08282: Firefox 98.0.2: mametesters.org website dropdown menus fail on Win10 Firefox | ||||
Description |
I noticed a bizarre issue on my Thinkpad X61t (Win10 version 1711 64bit, CPU=Core2Duo 1.6GHz, 4GB RAM). Its Firefox (newest version=98.0.2?, which was recently updated from 56) can not properly access the Mametesters.org website because the dropdown menus don't open. While on the first page "Welcome to MAME Testers." (https://mametesters.org/) everything still works fine, as soon I open another page (e.g. "View & Search") the dropdown menus stop working. They still light up blue when touched with the mouse pointer but don't fold out the items. Hence I also can not start a new topic in the forum because "New" does nothing. I already tried to disable various stuff in NoScript, Ghostery, the web filter of Comodo Internet Security etc. and even tried the Firefox safe mode with disabled plugins. (May there be an incompatible Firefox about:config entry? I had tweaked various stuff to reduce spyware.) On Google Chrome this site works correctly. Also on my main PC under Linux Mint (CPU=Ryzen 2400G) Firefox 98.0.2 64bit opens it without problems. |

I don't see how that's our problem. Use a browser that works. |

Firefox is not an exotic browser at all but at minimum the 2nd-most installed browser brand (and in many Linux systems the default)! I already had turned off plugins on X61t without effect. On Linux I always use NoScript etc. without any problems. (It only needs to manually enable script for a website that was interactively used first time.) |
