Summary 08376: contra, contra1, contrae, contrab: [possible] Wrong demo sequence
Description Contra in arcades show demo gameplay in sequence
Stage 1
Stage 2
Stage 5

MAME run contra, contra1, and contrae sets demo gameplay only show stage 1.
Try start contraj and contraj1. Both show the correct demo sequence.
I remember playing the arcade USA version and demo sequence show stage 1, 2 and 5.
Thanks for read.

I did notice gryzor/gryzor1 was "english" and also did the demo sequence of multiple levels as you describe. Is it possible your memory may be of that game and not the "Contra" titled machine?

Anyway, while I can confirm the behavior difference, no matter how strong memory might be, we need actual PCB verification on this one.
Confirming - flagging as possible (pending pcb verify)

could just be an undumped revision, very unlikely a MAME bug

Thanks for all replies.
I remember perfectly. The arcade was Contra USA version. Not Gryzor or Japan versions.
In several previous versions happen that same issue ?
In Youtube has an video from Contra USA original PCB, but not is simple find it.
