The game Zippy Race is named in game list being
Traverse USA / Zippy Race

If you try find using the "search" using the name traverse the game will be showed in search list , but if you try using "zippy" the game not will be listed.

I'm not sure if you're talking about searching from the command line, or searching from the menu. Perhaps you could clarify.

If you're talking about the command line, I can confirm this, since I encountered the exact same problem a few weeks ago.

There's many other examples as well, but one that comes to mind is Dangun Feveron. Type in >mame dangun , and mame can't find it. However, typing in >mame feveron produces the required result. The search is rather erratic. Sometimes it makes a brilliant deduction, other times it misses the obvious.

Another type of problem is
Using MAME GUI try find "Namco Classic Collection Volume 1" typing "namco" , "classic" and "collection".

"namco" the game is listed several pages below after of games not having "namco" in name.
"classic" and "collection" the game not is listed.

Typing "ncv1" the game will be listed correctly in top.

Perhaps that issue happen because is done an search using the company name instead game name ?
Need add an new detail in that issue title.
