Summary | 08575: vis: File search does not work correctly in VIS | ||||
Description |
Sorry I am not talking about specific games. As a personal hobby, I have created and used an additional course for "Links: The Challenge of Golf". In the process, I found something that is not working properly. The game searches for files with the extension CRS and recognizes them as course data. However, from MAME 0.240 onward, some file names cannot be searched correctly. |
||||
Steps To Reproduce |
Specifically, if the file "TORREY_P.CRS" in Links is renamed to "TI.CRS" or something similar, the search fails. However, if the file is renamed to "TJ.CRS", it works fine. If the ASCII code is "TI" or lower, the search fails; if the code is "TJ" or higher, the search succeeds. |
||||
Additional Information |
I checked the executable file in the game and found that it sometimes calls an INT24H exception, which should not occur, but I could not find out more with my capabilities. At any rate, it does not seem to affect commercial versions of Links, etc., but I suspect that there is some potential problem hidden somewhere. |

I can't reproduce this. It fails if I rename the course file to anything else no matter what version of mame I try. |
