|Summary||08684: sgunner2 and clones: games use pot based mounted guns, but are mapped to lightgun inputs|
|Description||These games are hooked up to lightgun inputs instead of ad stick. The games use mounted prop guns with potentiometers.|
|Steps To Reproduce||
1. Run the affected games.
2. TAB to the Input Assignments for the system and view them.
I've looked at footage of the machines, parts on ebay and over at arcadecontrols forum, and the manual. The service menu also shows "A/D CONVERTER" and the CH values change when you move the guns. The game came in a conversion kit for Operation Thunderbolt, which is hooked up in mame as ad stick, and uses the same gun parts. The game also has dedicated guns looking like a space zapper.
The Golly! Ghost! games guns look the same except they don't have the left side button for bombing, but use the same recoiling barrel as the Steel Gunner games. I think maybe those should be changed to ad stick as well since they are currently hooked up with lightgun inputs and have a similar set up in service mode.

|Yeah, we use IPT_LIGHTGUN for games that have that kind of controller. It's so the user can see the aim.|

I said that these games use the same guns but Operation Thunderbolt is AD_STICK in mame and Steel Gunner 2 is LIGHTGUN. Why would this be different if they are the same parts? The manuals both have the same diagram.
They also have a crosshair option in the UI so you can calibrate. Just turn off the crosshairs when done in Steel Gunner 2 so it is not in the way of the game's cursor.
