Summary 08786: vaportra: Sprite tiles #$1024 and #$1027 (belonging to picture with submarine in the demo mode) has an empty pixels.
Description This is 1px-high horizontal strips with colour code 1 in the middle of tile. On the snaphots they hardly noticeable because of dark palette, but through the GFX viewer you can see them much better.
Steps To Reproduce Press F4, then Enter, then ] till you reach the sprite viewer, and scroll till tiles whose numbers is specified in the header. Pallete switching with a direction keys will help you to sure that these strips is exactly empty.
Additional Information This bug (or not after all?) is present also in US and Japanese sets.

Each set would have been dumped separately, so if the missing pixels is in all of them then it would most likely be intentional, or at worst a BTANB.

almost no chance at all of this being a bug

I'm not even sure I'd call it "bug that's not a bug"

it appears to be a simple artistic choice.
