Summary 08872: ibm6580: Emulation Just Hangs with lights EFGH on solid no disk activity. (yes I realize it is an incomplete driver) 8-)
Description I was just hoping to try out this driver, even though the sound does not work (Did it even have sound?) to compare the results with 2 Real Machines at the ACMS Museum in Sydney that I am restoring.

Who would be the main Dev for this driver?

I have seen YT Video's of it actually working in a much older MAME version. Just wondering what broke it?

I would like to help and get the driver working again 8-)
Though I'm not a programmer!

Thanks.
Steps To Reproduce Boot System, immediately Hanges with light EFGH on solid.

The machine is marked as NOT WORKING, which makes this an invalid report. However I'll leave it for the devs to decide.

I did a quick debug session, and found that at around FC373, an incorrect result is input from port 14 (PPI8255). The machine therefore HALTS.

If you bypass that failure, then the machine says
*801* 05 05
along the bottom line of the screen, and only the E led is on. Then the machine seems stuck in a loop.

You can obtain the dev name by looking at line 2 of the source code.

Thanks Robbbert,

Yeah I suspected the report might get invalidated. 8-(

Its an interesting conundrum, the 801 looks like a real 6580 error I'll have a look in the Maint Manual and see if I can get more detail 8-)

I wonder what broke it! as there is a video on YT of it working and booting of a CE Drag disk image. 8-)

Its time like this that I wish I was an actual programmer!.
