This hasn't changed speed (1 mhz OKI sample chip) nor do I detect any difference in audio pitch in any version I checked (0.250, 0.259, 0.260, 0.266) trying all 3 characters available just to make sure.

Cannot confirm.
Can anyone else confirm or forcibly duplicate?

I tested the game with 0.110, 0.161 and 0.200, the sound pitch is lower than the current version.

It was changed here, between 0.216 and 0.217, when all clocks were fixed to be based on actual OSC shown on the board or confirmed otherwise.

Is there proof that the earlier speed is correct? I've done a cursory check for a non-MAME related recording on youtube with nothing showing.
At this point I'm pretty sure current behavior is "as on PCB".

The music is definately playing faster than an original pcb in the current version of mame. I supplied the rom dump for this game
from a working pcb to Reip many years ago and when it was emulated I let him know that the everything looked
good but that the music was playing to fast. Even the speech samples were fast. I sold the pcb shortly after it was
emulated so I cannot provide any frequency checks.
