Summary 08987: dreamwld: DIP Switch Determination
Description Hello, I wanted to report in on what some of the Unused DIP Switches do:

There are a total of 9 Unused DIPs in the Dip Switch settings
- DIP Switch #4 controls the Ticket amount
- DIP Switch #6 controls the Demo Sound (Off/On)
- DIP Switch #7, 8, and 9 control the Difficulty Level. I dont know exactly what the rhyme or reason is for how one switch impacts the level, but you can combine them in various combos to get Level 1-7 in difficulty

I made a video showcasing them in action available here:
Steps To Reproduce 1. Load up Dream World ROM
2. Change Service Mode DIP to On
3. Go to DIP Settings 1
4. Change various Unused DIPs to see them reflected on the screen
5. Go back and go to DIP Settings 2
6. Change various Unused DIPs to see them reflected on the screen

They don't actually have any effect in game.
See notes at

and

In particular, Demo Sounds is very easy to verify. Whether you have it on or off, the game doesn't produce any sound during attract mode
