In the later levels, possibly due to uncracked protection, shangkid's sound starts to get really screwy, with samples being replaced by loud, horrible static. This is especially noticable in level 8 (where you fight the tiger mask lookalike).
Update: One of the CPUs is a dedicated sample player. The bad sound is a bankswitching issue. - Stroff

After the commits in 51f084d3a7d35561de0cfb30c1a06ac6fb1305c5 and a0c70bf6181896bb839fedb6c1027452c8163914 (the latter removes a mistaken statement that broke the build), the garbage samples seem to be fixed, at least in attract mode where they would start to get excruciating when the green boxer appears.
There are still probably some missing sounds, though: there's a command sent to the third CPU during the "Round N" screen but it doesn't play anything.
