Summary 01168: simpsons: The game slows down a bit as if the original hardware wasn't powerful enough for it.
Description The game slows down a bit as if the original hardware wasn't powerful enough for it. Playing you can see the background doesn't move in sync with the rest of the game.
In the source there is:

CPU_KONAMI, 3000000, /* ? */

So the original coder wasn't sure about correct speed. If you overclock CPU 0 to 125%, it plays nicely.

PCB Information by Kold666 (0.122u5): I have measured clocks on simpsons pcb.
There is 24mhz xtal and pin 18 of the konami cpu gives 12mhz.
pin 17 gives 3mhz but I think the right clock is 12mhz since for a single cpu 90's game like Simspons 3mhz is too slow.

I'll submit a diff changing cpu to 12mhz with a comment of the findings

RB: The Konami-1 CPU is a 6809. Those do not run 12 MHz, *ever*. 3 MHz is more than sufficient for a low-sprite-count Final Fight clone. Didn't you ever play games on the C64? 1 MHz is a lot more than Intel and AMD (and Microsoft) want you to think :-)
