Summary 00121: nwarr: The CPU opponent order is fixed in MAME.
Description The CPU opponent order is fixed in MAME.
The game looks like it's choosing a random opponent (the versus screen rapidly flashes between different characters' portraits before settling on one) but in actuality the order you fight the characters is always exactly the same: First Victor, then Bishamon, then Lei-Lei...

I've investigated this again, and found that the CPU opponent order changes if you play a second game without resetting the machine, or if you let the attract mode run at least to the point where two CPU-controlled characters fight each other before starting your first game.

In other words, this turns out to be exactly the same type of BTANB as the famous Ms. Pac-Man maze color glitch.

Darkstalkers Ressurrection on PS3 has Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge.
In first gameplay the first cpu character was Hugo and after the Jon Talbain instead of MAME order Hugo and Bishamon. In second gameplay the first was Jon Talbain and third gameplay the first was Felicia.
Current MAME version allways is Hugo and after Bishamon. Even reseting or in another gameplay allways is Hugo and after Bishamon and the order not changes.
I remember in several previous MAME version testing reseting several times the cpu order was changed.
Other detail strange is that the normal speed on PS3 is more fast than in MAME selecting normal speed. Default Turbo speed is strange. Is a type of turbo being slow. MAME main CPU is on 74 %, but when changed to 100 % remember same speed that is on PS3 if selecting turbo.
Perhaps some detail on CPU clock speed or some code on 68000 emulation is the because of it ?
The game on PS3 look to be emulation. If Capcom is using own emulation code has some problem in MAME emulation since that the detail of post above about reseting the order is changed not is being in current version or perhaps the arcade game code was fixed by Capcom.
Need a arcade video capture.
