Doesn't repro here.
The opponent is chosen randomly as screenshots show.

This report is partially true, but I doubt it's a bug.

There are ways to 'always fight the same character'..
One way is to play a game right when the machine boots and enter a credit ONLY when the the title sequence is playing out (fighters in front of the building).
In that case, the opponents are predictable:

Choose - Fight Against
----------------------
Ryu Dhalsim
Ken Dhalsim
E.Honda Chun Li
Chun Li Ryu
Blanka Dhalsim
Zangief Dhamsim
Guile Chun Li
Dhalsim Chun Li

If you enter your credit before the title sequence (during disclaimer screen), you get a completely different set of opponents (but again, predictable):

Choose - Fight Against
----------------------
Ryu Blanka
Ken Blanka
E.Honda Ken
Chun Li Ken
Blanka Ryu
Zangief Blanka
Guile Ken
Dhalsim Ken

Again, after the demo plays and selects it's own match.. that randomizes the opponents again. Who is to say this isn't the intended behavior?

If I can get some dev verification, I'd like to put this as BTANB.
