I'm going to set this as a Bugs that Aren't Bugs. That line you see scrolling down on the right side of the screen is never actually seen by the player in the normal arcade machine as rather large bezel covers this up. This line on the right controls the "trench circuit" which in turn controls the trench scrolling + colors. If you use the complete artwork package, you can see how it all works out. Attached a video showing the original machine - in fact - the VERY machine which was used to get the artwork scans from. |
