The service mode still seems to work alright. This issue shows since it's been added. The only information on the error message I've found is located here:

It works if you enable the MCU *simulation*, however I've very specifically left it disabled. There is an MCU dump in this set so the MCU simulation _SHOULD NOT BE USED_

Somebody needs to hook up the MCU, the real bug is that the MCU *emulation* is broken / incorrectly hooked up.
