Summary 00200: kidniki: on real hardware it is possible to see the shape of his hair when in the darkness during the title sequence.
Description When playing Kid Niki on real hardware it is possible to see the shape of his hair when in the darkness during the title sequence, i have not been able to get the same effect with Mame... see pic.

Updated in 0.116u4: kidniki0104u3gre is fixed.

Stefan Lindberg says: But now the sprites(kid-niki) look way too dark during gameplay?

Perhaps this is a quirk of the circuitry that combines the background and sprites? The SNES has a very similar "problem" in that you can still see faint outlines of certain layers and sprites when you set the screen brightness to zero. I imagine you'd have to implement some form of analog monitor simulation in order to reproduce this behavior.
