Summary 02018: hardriv, racedriv and clones: Ever pressed brake and Unresponsive steering wheel
Description In calibration menu:
At the brake calibration page you have to press the brake and release it, but doing this simply do nothing you have to press the key to abort the precedure and go on

In Gameplay
The brake is always pressed, and the steering wheel is quite unresponsive, no metter the sensibility value used in "tab->analog control" menu. particularly evident in car & track selection menu
Steps To Reproduce Start the game for the first time and reach the "brake calibration menu" or enter in test mode and start the calibration procedure manually
Additional Information If you enter in test mode, going in "control test" menu, you can see that the maximum value reached by the brake & steering wheel is FF0 (2x4=8bit, 4096), but field have 3 digit (3x4=12bit, 65536). So maybe the driver assign a wrong 8 bit input to the brake / steeing wheel control instead of the right 12 bit one

I'm not so sure this is a bug. Please delete your "harddriv.NV" file (located in NVRAM) and try again using the instructions listed here:
http://mamedev.org/devwiki/index.php/FAQ:Games#Hard_Drivin.27_is_uncontrollable.21_It_brakes_all_the_time.21

I was able to map and play correctly with my setup just now (strictly keyboard - set HARDDRIV). I have to assume it was just an error in configuration. If anyone else is having trouble, please make a note here confirming such.

As far as steering wheel responsiveness, adjustments to your ANALOG CONTROL menu might be in order.
