Summary 02081: starcas: Sound Driver playing Drone Sound Samples wrong
Description I had fixed this driver a long time ago. But this problem came back again.

I will attach a wave file where I recorded a game session with a real Star Castle Machine. You can hear that the way MAME handles the drone audio is wrong. I'll see if I can fix the driver again.

In current mame (0.205), the game sounds like this:

Fixed in mame 0.128u3. From mameinfo:
- 0.128u3: Jim Hernandez improved Star Castle drone sound.

In mame 0.126u3, when this report was opened, the drone sound was far way high pitched. Since 0.128u3 sounds the same as the real hardware audo provided here.
Should the imperfect sound flag be removed from this game then?

Actually, notice that all machines which use external sample packs (.wav) files are flagged as imperfect. Until emulation is properly done, the flags will stay.
The fixing version sounds good enough to resolve, despite the flag. Is the the best we'll get with samples.
