Summary | 02083: All Sets in atarisy1.c: Sound fails after service mode reset
Description |
Upon entering service mode and resetting (it does not automatically reset upon flipping the DIP like marble and clones; this also leads to half of the service test being inaccessible since after the histogram for level 6, it returns to the switch test), sound no longer works. The service mode reports "Sound CPU Interrupt Error". Upon returning to the game mode, the sound does not work and coins are also not counted. No amount of resetting will restore sound; you must restart cold. EDIT: If you cold boot into service mode, the Sound CPU works fine in service mode. However, rerunning the Effects Chip Test will leave the last note hanging, and rerunning the Music Chip Test will cause a loud tone to be played shortly after the last note. |

Steps To Reproduce | Start game, flip Service Mode dip, reset.

For me, all it took was setting service mode on - hard resetting or restarting MAMe then using the Player 1 start (CTRL) to cycle to the sound test. I let the first one complete - then cycle with CTRL until sound test again where it shows as failed. |
