Summary 02126: corrupt CHDs are reported as missing
Description I have a corrupt hellngt CHD, that is reported as missing. The "corruption" is, that it's just 360 MB short of the real one. A simple clrmamepro scan will report it as correct (as it just checks the headers and not the complete file). It is quite misleading as you don't know what's wrong with the file. It should indicate, that there was a problem reading it.

I remember I once had a corrupt zip (roms) file, which allowed me to start and run the game. Offcourse there were problems with the game, but I had no clue what the cause was. I would've expect mame to report such problem.

Perhaps this should be extended to the zips/roms if possible?

I also thought about roms when making the report, but I wanted to stick with the issue I got and maybe look into it later.

I think any kind of decompression errors should be reported to the user (IIRC zlib reports CRC issues and other stuff, but you still have an extracted file to work with).
